KhushwinKhushwin Ujoodha

Currently in Seattle

I build Android apps at Microsoft, and Orbit in the evenings. I grew up on an island in the Indian Ocean and I still cook like it.

Everything below is dated, newest first — work, Orbit, tennis, the occasional thing I wrote. One list, because that’s the order it actually happened in.

nobody’s life has separate tabs for “work” and “personal”

Shipping GroupMe on Android

This week: a crash that only reproduces on Samsung devices set to Korean. Three years at Microsoft and the job is still 40% detective work.

it was the keyboard.
it is always the keyboard.

2026 · JUL · OFF THE CLOCK

Tennis twice a week, running the other days

Plus the gym most mornings, with an enthusiasm that varies by season. I'd like to claim it's discipline. It's mostly that I don't know how to sit still.

Orbit went into beta orbit.app ↗

My closest friends are eleven hours ahead. Orbit gives you both the same small question at the same time, and neither answer opens until you've both written something. No feeds, no streaks, nothing to fall behind on.

Luck is the variable everyone leaves out of the model

Every origin story I've read is a description of an outcome with the dice quietly removed. Mine included. So here is the honest version, dice first — keep reading

the only post so far.
a blog is a promise, not a page

Finally made dholl puri my mum wouldn't disown

Nobody in Seattle sells it, which makes this less a hobby than infrastructure. Eleventh attempt. The trick was less water than any recipe admits.

2025 · THE JOB

Teams → GroupMe

Outlook, then Teams, now GroupMe. Three apps, one platform, and a genuinely alarming amount of accumulated knowledge about Android notifications.

2023 · JOURNEY · THE JOB

Moved to Seattle, started at Microsoft

Rain seven months a year and Mount Rainier appearing out of nowhere on the clear days, which is a fair trade. Also where my taste in flannel quietly became sincere.

I own four. sincerely.

2023 · MAY · JOURNEY

Graduated Clark

4 years of epic memories, made friends who will last me a lifetime (and more importantly will let me stay at their place for free when I travel), great student activities to be part of, and learning the various skills that are not related to work or building things

Yay no homework to be done anymore

2019 · JOURNEY

Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts

Left the island at eighteen for a university I had never seen. Four years of computer science, four years of varsity swimming, one real coat. Worcester is where I went from someone who codes to a software engineer, and I can't point at the week it happened.

Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius

Sugarcane, sleeping volcanoes, and three languages in one sentence. Non-negotiable formative event.

the list ends where I started.
felt right.
